What is a scalpel?

2. Reusable scalpels (reusable scalpels):

Reusable blades are made of stainless steel or titanium. There is a groove on the body of these blades that is used to place them on a special handle. In this way, the blades can be replaced. Types of reusable dental scalpels are usually packaged individually in sterile bags, but they are also available non-sterile.

This model is one of the most widely used, best-selling, and sharpest blades. This blade is used to make shallow and delicate incisions on the patient’s gums. Scalpel No. 11 has a triangular shape and is thicker than scalpel blade No. 15, so it is stronger and more resistant.

• Scalpel blade No. 12:

To make a small incision on the gums, scalpel blade No. 12 is mainly used, which has excellent quality. Scalpel blade No. 12 is made of stainless steel and is used in all types of curved incisions.

• Scalpel Blade No. 15:

If very fine, curved cuts are needed on the gums, dentists will use a scalpel blade No. 15. This blade has a small, rounded edge. For this reason, this blade is used in surgery on sensitive organs such as the mouth, heart, and around the eyes.
