What is the use of Demiar?

A technique often recommended by Asthma Center specialists is to use a metered dose inhaler with a Demiar device. The metered dose inhaler (MDI) is connected to the Demiar device and you exhale completely before inserting the mouthpiece of the device into your mouth.

A spacer is a plastic accessory that has one side where the MDI sprays are located and the other side is the part that is placed in the patient’s mouth. Demiar is made to help increase the effectiveness compared to liquid or even tablet medications by spreading, transferring and adjusting the dose of the medication. Demiar is a very practical device for asthma patients and those who have lung problems due to shortness of breath.
It should be noted that Demiar also prevents the medication from depositing in the patient’s mouth and throat and prevents inflammation in the mentioned areas. Another benefit of using Demiair is the optimal use of the medicine. When the dose of medicine reaches the patient in full and without wasting any of it, the overall use of the medicine will also be saved.

Who should use Demiair?

• Children: For children under 4-5 years of age, a mask should be attached to the end of the Asan-Naf.
• All adults who use MDI sprays (L-shaped sprays).
• All adults who have difficulty using inhalation sprays on their own.
• Anyone who uses painkillers during asthma attacks.

How to use Asan-Naf

• Shake the spray well.
• Look carefully inside the Demiair to make sure there is no foreign object inside.
• Place the spray in the place provided on the back of the Demiair.
• Expel the air in your lungs.
• Place the Demiair in your mouth.
• Press the spray and take a deep breath.
• Hold your breath for 15 seconds.

The correct way to wash Asan Nafs

• If you have purchased a new Asan Nafs, wash it once before using it. Then wash your Asan Nafs once a month.
• First, for better and more thorough washing, separate the mouthpiece and end pieces of Asan Nafs.
• Place Asan Nafs in warm water for 15 minutes and wash gently with a detergent.
• Be careful not to rub the inside of the Asan Nafs tube, and only the outside and mouthpiece can be washed well.
• After washing, expose Asan Nafs to the air to dry.
• After complete drying, connect the separated parts together and you can now use the device.

Important points to note when using and maintaining your inhaler

• Do not store your inhaler in a plastic bag. Because the material of the Asan Naf tube is the same as the plastic bag, and the negative charge created in the tube as a result of contact with the plastic bag reduces the effect of the medicine used
• Before each use, be sure to remove any dust that may be on the plastic ring
• Keep your Asan Naf away from dust and liquids
• If you carry Asan Naf in your bag, it is better to prepare a smaller bag for Asan Naf and put it in the smaller bag. This way, you will prevent scratches on the Asan Naf body
• You should not dry your inhaler with a cloth because there is a high chance of transferring germs to it. If you are in a hurry, you can use a cold hair dryer to dry your inhaler quickly
• It is better to store it in a clean and healthy container. It is also better to wash your inhaler regularly. Usually every week or every two weeks, depending on the type of medicine.
