How to use drapes
When draped on the table or on the patient, you should be careful with the sterile drape, so that its edge covers the surgeon’s or nurse’s hand, so that only the surface under the drape comes into contact with the patient or table. When spreading the drapes, the hands should not be raised so high that they come into contact with the sialytic lamp nor lowered so low that they become contaminated with non-sterile equipment. The part of the drape that is below the table surface is always considered contaminated, and a sterile drape that is torn, dirty, or contaminated cannot be used and should be discarded.
